2026-06: Icon sets management

We’ve introduced advanced options to add, style, and replace map icons and other images. You can now add custom icon sets, combine them with our catalog sets, and manage them all in one place. 2026-05: MapTiler Server 4.8

This new version of MapTiler Server introduces:

  • A visual Virtual Tileset Editor to easily combine and color-tone multiple raster datasets, or to combine vector data from various sets into one.
  • New macOS installation using a DMG package to install easily via drag-and-drop.

2026-04: Geocoding control module v3

We’ve released a new version of the Geocoding control module for the MapTiler SDK JS. The module implements a search box in a map. If you’ve used the previous module version and want to upgrade, please note that there are some breaking changes. 👉 Learn how to migrate from v2 to v3

2026-02: Georeferencing in cloud

We’ve added the ability to georeference images directly in your browser. Previously, files without location metadata required pre-processing with MapTiler Engine. Now you can manually assign coordinates to any supported raster file and process it into map tiles within your MapTiler account. 👉 Learn how to georeference your images in cloud

2026-01: Style individual buildings

We’re introducing an easier option to style and highlight individual buildings in your maps. Previously, this required manual style JSON editing; now you can use the visual interface. The functionality is powered by the new Buildings tileset which includes unique building IDs and metadata, making it possible to filter out specific structures for styling. 👉 Learn the new method to style buildings

2025-11: New generation of MapTiler maps

We’re releasing MapTiler Planet v4 as the new data backbone for our maps, officially replacing MapTiler Planet v3. Related to that, we’re introducing new versions of our maps, built and optimized specifically for Planet v4.

2025-10: MapTiler Server 4.7.1

Since this minor version, MapTiler Server fully supports rasterization on macOS.

2025-07: MapTiler Server 4.7

The new version of MapTiler Server introduces on-prem geocoding. This feature makes it possible to set up a local Geocoding API and implement offline place search in your self-hosted maps.
