Geolocate control how to get the user’s location using the GPS
This tutorial shows how to disable the geolocate control to show the user’s location using the GPS or the browser location.
By default the geolocation control is activated and added to the map with these parameters:
- enableHighAccuracy: true (uses browser location, probably GPS)
- maximumAge: 0 (not using any cached location)
- timeout: 6000 (6 seconds)
- trackUserLocation: true

Copy the following code, paste it into your favorite text editor, and save it as a
.html
file. -
Replace
YOUR_MAPTILER_API_KEY_HERE
with your actual MapTiler API key. -
The next it’s up to you. You can start the map in a different place by modifying the
starting position

import
the CSS or include it with a<link>
in the head of the document via the CDN -
Include the following code in your JavaScript file (Example: app.js).
-
To disable the control and remove it from the map, all you have to do is indicate it in the map builder options.
