How to reduce the number of requests by switching to the new MapTiler Planet dataset
During the summer of 2020, we updated the way how some maps are being loaded from our servers. Landcover in all our maps is now part of the planet (previously, it was a standalone dataset). Therefore, one load of map tile is one request (previously two).
The default map styles were updated automatically. However, if you are using a customized map with landcover, which was customized/edited before summer 2020, it is still making double the amount of requests.
The solution is to select one of our default maps and customize/edit it again. This will decrease the number of requests and lower the bill.
