How to download datasets in GeoJSON for desktop GIS
The online Vector data editor lets you download datasets in the GeoJSON format, whether you’ve uploaded them or created them within the editor. These GeoJSON files can be used in desktop GIS software like ArcGIS or QGIS for further analysis.
Steps to download GeoJSON
- Open or create a dataset in Vector Data Editor
- Start by opening an existing dataset or creating a new one in the Vector Data Editor. You can upload files in GeoJSON, GPX, KML, or Shapefile formats or create your own using the drawing tools or the Search and Add feature
- Save the dataset
- Click on the save button to save the current status of your dataset. Only saved data will be available for download.
- Download the dataset
- Open the hamburger menu in the tio-right corner.
- Select Download dataset.
The saved data will be downloaded to your computer in GeoJSON format and ready to open in your desktop GIS software.
Convert GPX, KML, and Shapefile to GeoJSON
The Vector Data Editor allows you to upload data in GeoJSON, GPX, KML, or Shapefile formats. Once uploaded, you can save the dataset and download it as a GeoJSON file for use on your desktop computer.
