# Intesity or TileLayer layer

The TileLayer consists of multiple timeframes, every frame is a tile pyramid in a different moment in time. The individual frames are smoothly animated. Decoding of the data and their visual representation is configurable.

**Example**

```js
import { TileLayer, GradientColoringFragment, ColorRamp } from "@maptiler/weather";
  const customLayer = new TileLayer('population', {minZoom: 0, maxZoom: 7},
    [
      new GradientColoringFragment({
        decode: {
          channel: 'r',
          min: 0,
          max: 255,
        },
        stops: ColorRamp.builtin.TURBO.scale(0, Math.sqrt(45000)), // we want to cap at 45k ppl/sqkm
        smooth: true,
        opacity: 1
      }),
    ]
  );
```
