# Ocean RGB

Bathymetry is describing the underwater depth of ocean floors. This dataset represents the values encoded into RGB. The encoding process is the same as in the [RGB Terrain by MapTiler](https://docs.maptiler.com/schema-raster/terrain-rgb/).

You can use this data to enrich your map styles with hill shade or colored slopes but you can also use it in applications - such as elevation profiles, planning etc.
