# Show your vector data on a map

When you’ve prepared your dataset in [Vector Data Editor](https://docs.maptiler.com/guides/vector-data-editor/), you can add your vector features to a map. There’s a code and no-code way to do this.

Before you get to work, make sure to **Save** and **Publish** your vector file. This gets the dataset ready for integration in publicly available maps and applications. Your dataset is now saved in [GeoJSON](https://geojson.org/) format and hosted in your MapTiler account on the [**Data** page](https://cloud.maptiler.com/data/).

## Add data programmatically

As a developer, you’ll probably prefer using the [MapTiler SDK JS](https://docs.maptiler.com/sdk-js/), where adding a vector data source and styling the features is a matter of a few lines of code. We have basic examples for you to copy and modify as needed:

- [Show points](https://docs.maptiler.com/sdk-js/examples/geojson-point/)
- [Show lines](https://docs.maptiler.com/sdk-js/examples/geojson-line/)
- [Show polygons](https://docs.maptiler.com/sdk-js/examples/geojson-polygon/)

For more inspiration, [see all related examples](https://docs.maptiler.com/sdk-js/examples/?q=geojson).

## Use a visual editor

For a no-code approach, use our map design editor. Follow these steps:

1. Go to the [**Maps** page](https://cloud.maptiler.com/maps/) in your MapTiler account and click on **New map**.

2. Select a map you’d like to use and click **Customize**. This takes you to the map editor.

3. In the left menu panel, go to **Layers** and add a new layer using the plus button. Search available data sources and select your new vector dataset.

4. Style your features by adjusting color, opacity, outline, or any other visual properties. When done, [save and publish your changes](https://docs.maptiler.com/guides/map-design/how-to-publish-a-map/).
