# How to use MapTiler with ArcGIS Online

This guide provides a step-by-step process for integrating MapTiler [maps](https://cloud.maptiler.com/maps/) and [tiles](https://cloud.maptiler.com/tiles/) with ArcGIS Online. By following these instructions, you can easily display your MapTiler-hosted maps and tiles within ArcGIS Online, enabling you to leverage ArcGIS’s mapping tools alongside your custom MapTiler tiles.

## How to get a WMTS endpoint in MapTiler

In order to connect a tileset or a map via WMTS in ArcGIS, you have to create it first. Go to your MapTiler account at [MapTiler - Tiles](https://cloud.maptiler.com/tiles/) or [MapTiler - Maps](https://cloud.maptiler.com/maps/) and select a tileset/map.

Scroll down and copy the URL for the Web map tile service. 

## How to connect MapTiler WMTS to ArcGIS Online

### Add MapTiler Tile Layer to ArcGIS Online

1.  **Log in to ArcGIS Online**
2.  **Open the Map Viewer**:
    -   Click on **Map** from the top menu to open the Map Viewer.
3.  **Add a Layer from the Web**:
    -   Click on the **Add** button in the Map Viewer, then select **Add Layer from Web** from the dropdown menu.
4.  **Enter URL**:
    -   In the “Add Layer from Web” interface, Paste the **MapTiler WMTS URL**.
    -   You **need to fill** in additional parameter with the API key.
    -   Click on ‘**Add custom parameter**.’ In the ‘Parameter’ field, write ‘key’ and in the ‘Value’ field, enter your **API key**.
    -   Click **Next** to add your MapTiler map to the ArcGIS Online
