# MapTiler Engine technical specification

This article provides an overview of the technical specification of the MapTiler Engine application. It shows which versions of operating systems MapTiler Engine is available for, what input and output file formats are supported, and which coordinate systems can be used.

## Operating systems

-   Windows 10 (1809 or later)
-   Windows Server 2016 or newer
-   macOS 26+ (Apple Silicon only, Intel-based Macs are not supported)
-   Linux 64bit Debian, Ubuntu, RedHat, Fedora (with glibc >= 2.35)

## Input formats

## Output formats

-   OGC GeoPackage
-   MBTiles
-   Folder with tiles
-   OGC KML

## Supported CRS

-   Complete EPSG database, custom-defined SRS via Proj. Over 6,000 coordinate systems worldwide.
