# Type Alias SplatModelAnnotationActiveEvent

SplatModelAnnotationActiveEvent: [SplatModelAnnotationEvent](https://docs.maptiler.com/geosplats-sdk/api/interfaces/SplatModelAnnotationEvent/)<"annotation:active"\>

Event fired when an annotation becomes active, i.e. its popup opens. Only annotations with a popup become active, and at most one at a time: when another annotation was active, its "annotation:inactive" event fires first.
