# Type Alias GeoAnnotationPosition

GeoAnnotationPosition:
    | { lat: number; lng: number; y?: number }
    | { lat: number; lon: number; y?: number }

Position of an annotation in WORLD space: at a geographic location (WGS84, in degrees), so the annotation stays where it is on the map even if the SplatModel is moved or dragged.

- `lng` (or `lon`) and `lat` are the annotation's longitude and latitude. Latitude is limited to the range that the map can show, of about ±85.05°.
- `y` is optional, see [AnnotationPosition](https://docs.maptiler.com/geosplats-sdk/api/types/AnnotationPosition/) for how high the annotation sits.
